Many areas also have coupons in the mid-week papers, so find out which day the various publications include their fliers or store advertisements.

While inserts are common, it is a good idea to flip through the entire paper since many a good grocery store coupons are also included in the retail advertisements for local stores.

If the newspapers have great coupons for products that you use, then you may want to consider buying multiple copies.

Just make sure to calculate the bottom line. It is not really worth paying $1.50 for a paper just to get $1.00 in coupons.

Try asking a neighbor, friend, or family member if you can have their copy of the newspaper.

Most of the time, they are only going to toss it in the recycle bin anyway, so it doesn't hurt to ask.

Find Printable Coupons at Online Coupon Sites

There are a lot of websites that offer coupons for you to print out and redeem at the grocery store.

Some of these sites even have coupon trading so you can get multiple copies for the products you use the most.

It is important to note that not all stores will accept printed grocery store coupons so it is a good idea to ask about their policy ahead of time.

Online Grocery Store Sites

The outside of the package is not the only place where you can find grocery store coupons.

Many products have great savings hidden inside the container, on the box flaps, or behind the label.

And, if you have purchased the product, it probably means that you buy it regularly, so these coupons can likely be put to good use.

Manufacturer's Websites

Visit the manufacturer's website to see if they have any coupons for items that you use regularly. Sometimes these companies offer free samples of new products which usually come with really good coupons or special offers.

Grocery Stores

Often, this is where you will find the greatest wealth of coupons.

Check the entryway because many stores will have racks containing coupons.

They will also have exchange boxes or bulletin boards where you can leave the coupons you don't use and find extra copies of the ones you do.

Many stores also have “blinkies” which are machines that contain coupons for certain products and are usually located near the item being promoted.

You can also keep an eye out for tear pads, or books of coupons, that are placed on a rack or shelf near an advertised product to compare food prices.

And, do you know those people handing out free food samples? How many times have you walked by them with a polite, “No thank you!”?

Well, it may be worth your while to stop because they often have those very, VERY good grocery store coupons or special deals.

Finally, be on the lookout for products that have discount offers attached that you can peel off and redeem.

Some are instant savings while others are for future purchases. And, some even offer discounts on complementary items.

For example, a jar of tomato sauce may have an attached coupon for the same brand of pasta.

Product Packaging

The outside of the package is not the only place where you can find grocery store coupons.

Many products have great savings hidden inside the container, on the box flaps, or behind the label.

And, if you have purchased the product, it probably means that you buy it regularly, so these coupons can likely be put to good use.

Supermarket Circulars

Many grocery stores mail out weekly flyers that contain coupons.

If you do not receive a circular from a store that you visit regularly, go to their customer service desk and ask to have your address included.

Many supermarkets will gladly comply, especially if they don't have printable online coupons.

Friends and Family

Sometimes a friend or family member will pick up particular grocery store coupons for products that they know you use.

For example, if they know that you like Huggies diapers for your baby. When they come across a good coupon, they will save it for you.

Especially if you have asked them to watch for good deals on particular items. Social media sites such as Facebook can also be a great source of amazing coupons.

When people have multiples of really good promotions for products that they don't use such as $5 off diapers or $3 off laundry soap, they will often post these offers for any of their friends who live in the area and are able to come pick up the coupons.

Supermarket coupons can be found in a lot of different places, and by taking a few minutes to hunt for these offers you can lower your weekly food costs significantly.

But, remember, it's important to know your food prices because a coupon is only a good deal if it's for an item that you usually buy and if it will provide you with the lowest price available.
